The Transit of Venus is one of the rarest of all celestial events occuring only twice every 121 years. A young, unwed mother in Savannah, Georgia, begrudgingly agrees to live with a cult who is obsessed with the event. She finds out soon enough, however, that something is not quite right with this odd congregation.

This short story has more to do with religious extremism than with a celestial event. The ending is horrid. I would not recommend it to anyone.Product details

The Transit of Venus eBook Tarrin P Lupo Ruby Hilliard Doc Sampson Adam Lishawa Reviews
One very weird short story. Don't bother to waist your time reading it. Poorly written junk!
I would like to know why this popped up under the heading, Shirley Hazzard Books. I did not even put in the title, but of course "Transit of Venus" is Hazzard's most famous work. My husband just read it in actual book form, and I wanted to read it on my phone on my app. I got this other book instead, and apparently the one I want is not available on .
I was very disappointed with this story. The ending was poor and I did not enjoy the story at all. I am sorry I purchased it even though I only paid 99 cents.
This story completely takes the reader in once it begins. Whether you are in Savannah, Ga., or somewhere else, Savannah is where you land shortly after the first page.
Tarrin has described the plight of the poor and uninsured well, and although this is a gripping short story of fiction, my guess is that it portrays fairly accurately the plight of the young, pregnant, and uninsured.
Dark and gripping. If you're looking for a "and they lived happily ever after", well...keep looking.
This short story was incredibly poorly written. The dialogue was flat and forced, the characters were boring, and I really can't find anything at all good to say about it. Other than it was a very very quick read, so there was not a lot to suffer through.
Trite, poorly written, unedited. Don't waste your time reading it; the author didn't waste his time writing it.
Is there always strings attached to help offered? Maybe not, but in this case, there are some very odd strings attached to the help a cult has offered a young, pregnant, homeless woman in her time of need. This is a short read that keeps your attention until the end with a quick pace and vivid imagery.
This short story has more to do with religious extremism than with a celestial event. The ending is horrid. I would not recommend it to anyone.
